There’s nothing quite like a hearty bowl of chili, and this version is packed with flavorful ground beef, Italian sausage, and a blend of spices. It’s perfect for a cozy dinner or a game day spread.   • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lb. ground Italian sausage
  • 23 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 10 oz. cans diced tomatoes and green chilis (Rotel)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 3 tablespoons chili powder
  • 12 teaspoons chipotles in adobo minced
  • 1/4 cup cornmeal
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Optional Toppings

  • Tortilla chips or Fritos
  • Shredded cheese
  • Sliced green onions
  • Sour cream

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, (or directly in the slow cooker, if you have a sauté option) brown 1 lb. ground beef1 lb. ground Italian sausage2-3 cloves garlic and 1 medium onion until the onion is soft and the meat is no longer pink.
  • If desired, drain grease, and transfer meat mixture to the slow cooker, if needed.
  • Stir in 2 10 oz. cans diced tomatoes and green chilis (Rotel)1 cup beef broth1 teaspoon oregano1 teaspoon smoked paprika, , 1-2 teaspoons chipotles in adobo, and 1/4 cup cornmeal. Season with salt and pepper, to taste
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours. Add more water or beef broth if chili becomes too thick. Serve with optional toppings and enjoy!
